Goncalo Alves is a hardwood from Central and South America. The contrasting color schemes range from light gold to reddish brown with dark brown or black streaks. After turning to shape on a lathe, the barrel is sanded to 600 grit and six coats of finish are applied and buffed to a pleasing sheen.

The pen shown is the high quality Slimline with a Titanium gold finish. It comes with a Cross style medium ballpoint, black refill available at most office supply stores.
