This well made, solid antique pewter Mechanic’s pen features a mechanism designed to emulate a five-speed “H” pattern shifter and can be shifted just like the real thing. Design features include a car tire on the cap with true to life treads and hubcap. The same tread pattern is duplicated at the tip. A five-speed pattern is etched into the shifter handle to fully advance the ink cartridge in low gear and retract in high gear. An industrialized crowbar clip attached with two small screws rounds out the design.
The specially designed, unique inlay consists of stabilized maple and walnut. Metal looking acrylic used to cast the wrench and piston provides an authentic look. A flywheel is laser etched around the barrel. After turning to shape on a lathe, the barrel is sanded to 600 grit and six coats of CA finish are applied and polished to a high sheen that will last for many years. The high quality, Parker style ink refill included with your pen is available at most office supply stores.
Also included with your pen is a hinged, black velvet presentation box, which is perfect for gift giving or protecting your pen.
