The Betsy Ross pen is designed after the first American flag. It is assembled from individual pieces of stabilized maple, laser cut to precise dimensions so that no fillers are used in the assembly process. Stabilizing is a process which dyes the wood throughout its entire depth and makes it rock hard
The individual stripes and 13 wood stars are assembled by hand and turned to shape on a lathe. Then the barrel is sanded to 600 grit and six coats of finish are applied. The result is a long lasting, smooth look and feel.
The pen shown is a high quality Sierra smooth operating twist type. It is finished in 24K gold and black and comes with a Parker style medium ballpoint, black refill available at most office supply stores.
