The bald eagle is a bird of prey found in North America. It is both the national bird and the national animal of the United States of America. Subsisting mainly on fish, it builds the largest nest of any North American bird and the largest tree nests of any animal species. Recorded nest measurements are up to an astounding 13 ft deep x 8.2 ft wide and weigh more than 1 ton!

The accurate, beautifully designed representation of the bald eagle is made from 10 pieces of stabilized and dyed maple wood on a light blue maple barrel. These pieces are laser cut to precise dimensions for a perfect fit. No fillers were used in the assembly process. The barrel is then turned to shape on a lathe, sanded smooth, finished and polished.
