The square and compasses emblem on this pen is the logo of Freemasonry, a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. The organization, whose members are known a Masons, has a history dating back hundreds of years, possibly to the Middle Ages
The Masonic inlay on this pen is so perfect that it appears to be a decal. It is actually individual parts of stabilized, dyed Maple wood. Each piece is laser cut to precise dimensions for a perfect fit and assembled by hand into the black Maple barrel. Stabilizing is a process that ensures color stability through the entire depth of the pieces and makes the wood rock hard. The pen barrel is turned to shape on a lathe and sanded to 600 grit. Six coats of high quality CA finish are applied and polished for a long lasting, smooth look and shine.
The pen shown is the Sierra twist with a 24K gold and black finish. Included is a medium ballpoint, black Parker style ink cartridge. Refills are available at most office supply stores or on line.
Also included is a hinged presentation box, which is perfect for gift giving or protecting your pen.
