Egrets are tall, long-legged wading birds with long, S-curved necks and long dagger-like bills. Egrets wade in shallow water, either fresh or salt and feed on fish, frogs and other small aquatic mammals. They nest in stick nests built high in trees, often on islands that are free of predators such as raccoons.

The pen shown is a wood inlay representation of an Egret, made with 10 pieces of dyed and stabilized woods that are precisely cut by laser for a perfect fit. After shaping on a lathe, the inlay barrel is sanded to 1200 grit and six coats of finish are applied and polished to a high sheen.

The pen is the reliable Sierra smooth click finished in 24K gold and black. The pen includes a Parker style ink cartridge and also accepts the gel type. Refills are available at most stationery stores or on line.
